Description
This magnificent stream of sulphurous water comes from a cave called Cave of the Sardine, forming a beautiful waterfall about 12 m high, unfortunately we can not admire in all its magnitude, due to difficult access to it´s bottom, where they form small pools.
This cave holds a traditional festival called "The fishing of the Sardine" which is celebrated during Lent, the event begins with the transfer of participants from the village of Tapijulapa to the cave of the sardine , which is located 1 km from the once home of former governor of Tabasco, Tomas Garrido.
At the party to dance the dance of sardine, accompanied by music and drum faut, and once the ceremony is thrown into the river a preparation of poison, which numbs the sardines to be much easier to catch.
